Removal of Solids from Washwater
Location – Livestock Collections, UK
Application – Filtration of solids from washwater, acting as a pre-filtration for effluent treatment.

Application
| Washwater used in the washing down of transportation vehicles for livestock required costly treatment before it could be discharged.
After vehicles were pressure washed, all the waste was collected in a pit which was then sent to an onsite effluent treatment site, where it would be treated before it could be disposed of. The wastewater consisted of large solids (food, feathers, livestock waste) and required filtration to 50micron with flow rates of 50m3/hr. |
Solution
| A Rotary Drum Filter was installed on site, which acted as a “pre-filtration” to the effluent treatment plant.
The washwater was pumped through the Rotary Drum at 50micron, removing all the large solids and providing a suitable water quality to be discharged. The benefits to the customer include:
