Problem
Due to the nature of operation of evaporative cooling towers, there are many opportunities for solids to enter the process water system. The presence of particulate in a cooling tower system can have highly negative effects on the performance and running costs of the cooling tower and system components and can also effect control of biological growth within the water system leading to an increase in chemical costs to gain control.
Solution
Following our visit to site, IWF proposed the use of an automatic self-cleaning filtration system connected in the main process line providing continuous removal and protection to the cooling tower and water system. This solution provided the client with increased biological growth control and protection from system fouling, leading to a rapid return on their investment.
