Filtration to Protect Monitoring Equipment

Application

Monitoring equipment was fouling due to suspended solids in the sample water taken from the reservoir. This was causing insufficient readings on the monitoring equipment resulting in manual sampling required.

An automated monitoring system had been installed but could not be used because the small, manual filter they were supplied with, blocked on an hourly basis – needed manual intervention.

This was very time consuming and needed automated, reliable system.

The sample readings indicate the levels of dosing required – so play a significant part in the process.

IWF was contacted by a specialist consultant to find a bespoke solution to solve the issue.

Solution

Velocitek OVF 150 Duplex model was installed upstream of the monitoring equipment. This provided client with benefit of keeping the monitoring equipment clean so that the automated dosing system could be used as intended, saving time on manual interventions.

All suspended solids were removed, ensuring a water sample free from debris. This prevented the quality monitoring equipment from failing and providing constant water quality.
